Product Description

ProctorWrap™ CW is a thermo-calendared triple layer polyolefin non-woven textile, weather resistant barrier bonded without adhesive. This product is also available with pre-applied integrated tape (CW-IT). This product meets the requirements of AS/NZS 4200.1:2017 and is suitable for use in Australian residential and commercial applications.

Applications

ProctorWrap CW is suitable behind both brick veneer and lightweight clad walls in warm to cold climate zones where vapour pressure is typically higher inside the building compared to outside. This product meets the requirements for use in BAL regions 12.5 to FZ in accordance with AS3959.

Installation

ProctorWrap CW should be installed in accordance with AS/NZS 4200.2 Pliable Building Membranes and Underlays, Part 2 Installation Requirements and in full accordance with the product installation guide. ProctorWrap CW must be installed with the printed surface facing outwards.

RW-IT (Integrated Tape)

To improve the integrity of installation, ProctorWrap CW-IT is also supplied with a factory applied integrated tape.

Proctor recommends ProctorWrap HighTack PLUS Tape.

Durability

Although ProctorWrap CW can be used as temporary protection during construction, it is not a waterproof membrane as classified by AS 4654.2. The product may be damaged by careless handling, high winds or vandalism. Any damaged areas should be replaced before completion. To ensure maximum long term durability, ensure that ProctorWrap CW is covered up by the primary cladding material as soon as possible, and not left exposed to UV for longer than 12 weeks.

What ProctorWrap CW Is Built For

Designed for Longer Exposure Windows

A residential job typically moves from wrap to cladding on a tight timeline. A commercial site rarely does. Between multiple trades sequenced through the same building envelope, staged cladding delivery, and structural work continuing other parts of the building, wrap on a commercial job can sit exposed to weather for a genuinely extended period before it's covered. CW is specced with that timeline in mind, rather than assuming cladding follows immediately behind install the way it might on a straightforward residential build.

Holding Up to Site Activity

Commercial sites also see more general activity around an installed membrane than a typical home build other trades working nearby and coming down. On a commercial façade, there are often more of these detail points per square metre than on a simple residential wall with larger window systems, more service penetrations for building services, more complex junctions between different sections of the envelope.

A membrane that handles those details cleanly without compromising the barrier is genuinely more valuable on a commercial job than it might be on a simpler residential wall run.

Why Self-Adhesive Changes the Install

CW-IT is the self-adhesive variant of the commercial line. Instead of relying purely on mechanical fixing and taped laps, the membrane itself adheres directly to the substrate, which speeds up install on large commercial runs and reduces the number of separate fixing points that can fail over time.

On a large commercial envelope, every mechanical fixing point is both a labour cost and a potential future failure point. One more spot where a fastener could work loose or a seal could degrade over the building's life. Reducing the total number of fixing points by using a self-adhesive membrane doesn't just save install time, it reduces the long-term maintenance surface of the entire envelope.

Best suited to commercial jobs where install speed matters as much as performance, these self-adhesive walls wrap cuts down on labour time per run without compromising the weather-barrier function underneath. Substrate Compatibility for Self-Adhesive Application

Self-adhesive membrane performance depends on the substrate being clean, dry and suitable for direct adhesion, since not every commercial substrate (structural steel, various sheathing types) necessarily performs the same with a self-adhesive product as it would with a mechanically fixed one.

Ordering CW for a Commercial Project

Wall wrap and the matched tape system, HighTack Plus for laps, and the relevant penetration sealing tape if the project calls for it, are worth speccing together as a package, since ordering the membrane without matched tapes is one of the most common gaps in a commercial envelope spec.

On a project this scale, an underestimated quantity can mean a genuine delay waiting on resupply, so it's worth building a reasonably generous quantity buffer into the order based on the full façade area and expected wastage.
