Barricade FR XT Premium Commercial & Residential Fire Retardant Building Wrap

Suitable for use behind direct-fixed and cavity cladding systems over timber or steel framing, it provides reliable weather protection while allowing water vapour to escape from the building envelope.

Purpose Masons Barricade FR XT is a fire-retardant, vapour-permeable flexible building wrap for use as sarking on walls and gables. When correctly designed and installed, Barricade FR XT helps limit the entry of wind into building cavities, provides a secondary barrier to wind-driven rain and allows water vapour to pass through the building envelope. Barricade FR XT may be left exposed to natural weathering and UV for up to 90 days prior to the installation of the external cladding.

Description Masons Barricade FR XT is a synthetic, tri-laminate flexible building wrap comprising white non-woven outer layers bonded to a central functional membrane. Barricade FR XT has an approx weight of 140 g/m2. The product is white and printed with Masons branding. It is supplied in rolls protected by external clear packaging.

Scope of Use and Limitations Masons Barricade FR XT is suitable for installation on the exterior side of timber or steel wall framing.

It may be used with:

› masonry veneer cladding systems

› absorbent and non-absorbent claddings direct fixed to framing or

› absorbent and non-absorbent claddings installed over a ventilated and drained cavity

› wall and gable applications where a flexible, vapour-permeable building wrap is required.

Barricade FR XT is classified as light wall duty and is intended for use on walls and gables only. Barricade FR XT must be: › installed in accordance with AS 4200.2 and the current Masons installation instructions

› protected from damage during installation and construction

› covered by the external cladding within the stated 90-day exposure period

› stored under cover in a clean, dry place

NCC Compliance When specified, installed and maintained in accordance with the NCC, AS 4200.2 and all current Masons requirements, Barricade FR XT may contribute to the management of external moisture, air movement, condensation and water vapour within wall and gable construction. Project-specific compliance must be confirmed by the building designer.
