What Is the WRAP-IT-FAST System?

WRAP-IT-FAST is a complete fastening system designed specifically for fixing insulation wrap and sarking to steel-framed buildings like sheds, patios, and carports. It combines a brushless battery-powered insulation nail gun with purpose-sized insulation washers that load into the gun and fire together with the fastener in one trigger pull.

The result is that what used to take three separate actions, holding the wrap, positioning the washer, and driving the fastener, now happens in one. For anyone doing a full roof or wall run with hundreds of fixings, that time saving adds up to a significant difference in how long the job takes and how many people you need to do it.

Why Standard Fasteners Don't Work Well on Insulation Wrap

This is the part most people figure out after they've already made the mistake. A standard nail or screw head is too small to spread load across reflective foil or sarking. When you drive it in, the head punches straight through the foil, or the fixing works loose once the wrap starts flexing in the wind. On an exposed roof, that happens faster than you'd expect.

The insulation washer is what stops that from happening. It spreads the load across a wider area of the foil so the fastener holds without tearing through. But if the washer is the wrong size, the wrong material, or doesn't suit the gun, the whole system fails regardless of how good the gun is.

The Insulation Washers

The insulation washer is doing more work here than most people give it credit for. Get the washer wrong and the whole fixing fails even if the gun is doing its job properly.

Our insulation washers are sized to match standard sarking and reflective foil gauges, in a steel variant that handles outdoor exposure without corroding early. For steel frame jobs specifically, there's a heavier washer variant designed to bite into steel purlins without deforming, which is worth using if you're fixing into purlins rather than lighter stud framing.

A few things worth knowing about the washers:

• The new steel washers require new nails. The older smooth nails will not work with them.
• Position the washers off-centre towards the elbow of the steel frame for the best outcome.
• Use spray adhesive or double-sided tape with the steel washers for extra hold around windows and openings.
